Rules and Eligibility

1. Overview
The Award for Excellence in Implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals, organizations, institutions, or communities that have demonstrated measurable and impactful progress toward achieving one or more of the 17 SDGs.

2. Objectives

  • Promote awareness and action on the SDGs.

  • Celebrate innovative and effective SDG implementation.

  • Encourage partnerships and collaborations aligned with the 2030 Agenda.

  • Share best practices and inspire broader adoption.

3. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

3.1 Who Can Apply:

  • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)

  • Educational institutions

  • Community-based organizations

  • Social enterprises

  • Private sector entities

  • Public sector institutions

  • Individuals (with proven track records in SDG-related work)

3.2 Geographic Scope:

  • The award is open to applicants globally.

  • Projects must have been implemented in whole or in part within the last three years.

3.3 Alignment with SDGs:

  • Applicants must demonstrate a clear link between their initiative and one or more of the 17 SDGs.

  • Initiatives may address a single SDG or be cross-cutting.

3.4 Verification of Activities:

  • Submissions must include verifiable data, outcomes, or impact assessments.

  • All claims must be supported by documentation, testimonials, or independent evaluations where applicable.

4. Application Process

4.1 Application Format:
Applicants must submit:

  • A completed application form

  • A project summary (max 1000 words)

  • Impact report or supporting documents (optional but recommended)

  • At least one letter of recommendation or endorsement

  • Any relevant multimedia (photos, videos, publications) as evidence

4.2 Language:

  • All submissions must be in English.

4.3 Submission Deadline:

  • Applications must be submitted by September 11th 2025 at 17:00 GMT.

4.4 How to Apply:

5. Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Impact (30%) – Measurable results and positive change.

  • Innovation (20%) – Creative approaches to SDG implementation.

  • Sustainability (20%) – Long-term viability and environmental/social sustainability.

  • Scalability (15%) – Potential for replication or expansion.

  • Inclusivity (15%) – Level of community engagement and inclusion of marginalized groups.

6. Selection Process

  • A multidisciplinary panel of judges will review and score all applications.

  • Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for interviews or additional documentation.

  • Finalists will be announced on November 11th 2025 at 09:00 GMT.

  • Winners will be notified of their success before October 11th 2025 at 17.

7. Terms and Conditions

  • Applicants may only submit one entry per cycle.

  • By submitting an application, participants agree to allow the organizers to publish their names, project summaries, and photographs for promotional purposes.

  • The decisions of the judging panel are final and not subject to appeal.

  • Organizers reserve the right to withhold the award in any category if no suitable candidate is identified.
